Steinbeck tries to see things in different perspectives. He says that conflict makes a interesting story. 
People don't want absolute freedom, instead they want to have a choice. also there are two types of love, the first being "a selfish, mean, grasping, egotistical thing which uses love for self-importance" and the other being the type of love that brings out the best in you, the kindness and consideration and respect and recognition of another person as unique and valuable.

My Learning Fall and Rise

       I have changed a lot over the past 4 months. This class has changed my views on teachers and the way I view schoolwork.    The Great Gatsby, a novel written by F. Scott Fitzgerald, is a story that uses characterization to show that happiness is not really attainable. Fitzgerald shows this by making most of the characters selfish, greedy, and unhappy with their lives. He tries to show us that no matter what you have in life people will always be unhappy with what they have. For example, Gatsby is a millionaire with a big house and an expensive car but he is still unhappy because he wants the girl of his dreams. Tom Buchanan is married to Daisy but he isn't happy with just her so he gets a mistress. Also, Myrtle is unhappy with her marriage because her husband isn't rich enough for her and decides to cheat on him with Tom Buchanan. APRIL 21 JOURNAL

Today, i got the chance to cook a meal for my nephews since i take care of them. I always make them food, but its always packaged food so i don't really get to be creative with it. But this time i got to cook chicken with my own seasoning and my own instructions. It took some time but it was pretty fun and the kids loved it.
